The Kiwanis Club of Middletown was founded in 1951. Its members have been finding unique and creative ways to serve the children and residents of Middletown through numerous projects and fundraisers. Our signature project Warm the Children provides new warm winter clothing to children in Middletown, Cromwell, Portland, East Hampton, Durham, Middlefield, and Haddam. The club also holds an annual Bike Rodeo as part of Middletown Kids Health & Safety Day, provides larger family food baskets for Middletown’s Thanksgiving Basket Drive, food drives and meal packing events for Amazing Grace Food Pantry, scholarships, bell ringing for Salvation Army, and sponsoring the Middletown High School Key Club. The club also financially assists numerous organizations in Middletown.

The Kiwanis Mission & Vision

Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. Kiwanis strives to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. Our Kiwanis club fulfills the Kiwanis mission by serving our community through Kiwanis Community Service Projects

What is Kiwanis?

Kiwanis International is a century old global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.  Kiwanis strives to be a positive influence in communities worldwide so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them, and provide the support they need to thrive.  Each community is different, so each Kiwanis Club is different.

Kiwanis Clubs sponsor various Service Leadership Programs, including Circle K International (for college/university students), Key Club International (for high school students), Builders Club (for middle school students), K-Kids clubs (for elementary school students), and Aktion Clubs (for adults living with disabilities).  The Kiwanis Club of Middletown sponsors the Middletown High School Key Club.
